Hi all! Just wanted to quickly drop in today with a few random tidbits. Most importantly, I wanted to let you guys know that I recently had an article go live over on Home Made Simple. I covered the topic of how to clean your toaster.

Now I know what you’re thinking: that’s not the most exciting subject matter in the world. BUT did you know that not cleaning your toaster can present a fire hazard for your home? Yeah, no bueno. So go check out my simple tips for keeping your brave little toaster (Do you guys remember that movie? I remember being super freaked out by the evil electromagnet in the junkyard) sparkling clean. Check out my article here!

Secondly, when I did my reader survey a few weeks ago, a couple of you asked how our pooch was getting along with our little one. I’m pleased to say that she has been great! She barely pays attention to him, just walks by him every now and then and gives him a little lick on his head. It has been quite the relief to know they get along (at least for now)!

And finally, if you guys havent’ downloaded the new app from A Beautiful Mess, you are missing out! It is SO much fun to edit your photos with all their extras!! I was a ha-yuge Lisa Frank sticker lover as a kid…I can remember sitting with a few other girls at elementary school recess to look at each others stickers. Yes, I’m a dork. But seriously, this app is like my grown-up Lisa Frank collection. I love it!

Welp, last Thursday marked 2 years since starting this lil’ old blog!

It’s been such a fun journey so far, and I can’t wait to see what year three brings! Thank you to all my wonderful readers for sticking around!! Just for fun, I created a little survey  for you guys. I wanna hear what you think!

You may or may not have heard that GoogleReader is going away starting July 1st (wahhhh!). So I’m looking into other ways to follow all of my favorite blogs and for you guys to follow mine. So far I’ve checked out Feedly and BlogLovin’ and I like both. If you guys have other suggestions let me know!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I didn’t start blogging with the intention of gaining a lot of followers or ever even getting noticed, really. I started it as a way to motivate myself to do some of the projects I had floating around in my head. And I fell in love with it from the very first time I hit ‘Publish’. I instantly loved the creative outlet it gave me and so many people (both those I knew and those I didn’t know) were supportive of it. And I’ve SO enjoyed watching it grow little by little and I’m very thankful for each of the opportunities that’s come my way because of this blog. I could do it without all of YOU!

Ok, enough gushing.

I was recently browsing through my traffic sources on Google Analytics and I saw a referral from Apartment Therapy. My first thought was, “That can’t be right.” So I clicked over only to see that someone nominated this little ol’ blog for a Homie!

If you don’t know what The Homies are…they are a super awesome award for Home and DIY bloggers. Basically The Oscars of the bloggy world. And not only did someone nominate me, but TWO whole other people voted for me!

Now obviously I was nowhere CLOSE to winning, but I am seriously over the moon just to be in the same list with all those other awesome bloggers. Seriously…it’s crazytown. So a huge resounding THANK YOU to whichever one of you sweet readers nominated me…you made my week for sure!!

And just when I thought things couldn’t get any better, the nursery was featured on Apartment Therapy on Friday! Picture my 9-month preggo self doing the running man dance when I found out about that one. Pure hilarity, I tell ya.

So for those of you who may be new here: welcome to the family! You can check out my About Me page to get to know me a little better!!

And for those of you who have been long time readers, I’m giving you all virtual bear hugs…well on second thought, my belly is really huge and you probably couldn’t fit your arms around me…sooooo…virtual high five instead!

I am SO excited to announce Lemon Drop Life’s very first sponsor: SewMyBliss. The shop owner, Megan is a personal friend, and she opened up her Etsy shop a few short months ago. She’s a wizard behind a sewing machine (seriously, I’m thinking of commissioning some sewing lessons from her) and makes all sorts of cute stuff.
