We’ve got an event coming up next week at our church that I’m hosting and planning the meal for. I decided that cupcakes would make for an easy, fuss-free dessert, which of course means that I will need cupcake stands to display them on. However, the only one I own was a very vibrant aquamarine-colored one. And aquamarine is a difficult color to work into a muted fall-ish color palette.

So, I turned to my good friend, spray paint, to remedy this problem for me.
I considered spraying it white or even gold, but in the end decided that using chalkboard spray paint might be kind of fun. I taped off the support in the middle, and hit it with two coats of spray paint. This was my first time using the spray paint version of the chalkboard paint, and I am totally in love with it. I am currently looking for more things in my house that need to be turned into chalkboards.
I let it dry for about 20 minutes, peeled off all the tape, and voila! A chalkboard cupcake stand! Unfortunately, I didn’t have any cupcakes on hand to stage it for you, so I used apples. But you get the idea.

Is anyone else as obsessed with chalkboard spray paint as I am?

You are so creative Dacia! I love you!
